After decades in a historic downtown building, a Med City law firm has moved west.

Patterson Dahlberg Injury Lawyers moved into a new office complex at 3014 Allegro Park Lane SW last week. That’s the former home of Corporate Web Services Inc.

Partner Paul Dahlberg said the reason for the shift was simple.

“We simply outgrew our downtown locations,” he said.

That means the 161-year-old historic Kelley Building at 320 S. Broadway, plus additional office space at 330 S. Broadway, could no longer accommodate the growing law firm with four attorneys, six paralegals and a receptionist.

Dahlberg partnered with Thomas R. Patterson in 2009 to form Patterson and Dahlberg, though the Patterson name had been on the Kelley Building back when Lund & Patterson was based there.

Built in 1857 by Dr. Lewis Halsey Kelley, the Kelley Building housed Rochester’s first doctor and its first newspaper. It was renovated by Olmsted County Judge Kevin Lund and his father, Anthony Lund, in 1993 for their law firm, which later became Lund & Patterson.

The personal injury practice was based in the Kelley Building, while the worker’s compensation team was based in the nearby 330 building.

“It’s nice to have parking, and we’re the only ones in this space,” added Dahlberg. “It’s a good fit, size-wise.”

The law firm purchased the 4,950-square-foot building for $1.2 million on Aug. 8 from De Keyrel Properties, LLC, led by CWS Founder and President Alan De Keyrel. De Keyrel built the complex in 2004 for CWS.

The CWS staff that were based in the building now work remotely.
